New violence against Egypt's Coptic community

The BBC reported today that a dozen people were injured in Upper Egypt when a group of Muslims tried to prevent Christians from converting a house into a church. Both Muslims and Christians were injured in the violence that ensued. This latest incident comes on the heels of riots outside of a Coptic church in Alexandria, Egypt leading up to parliamentary elections. Egypt's Coptic Christian minority faces religious discrimination, including strict regulations on church building.
